If you don’t take a chance, if you don’t try to seize an opportunity, you’re not going to get the positive outcome. If you don’t take the shot, you can’t make the basket. Now this translates across all different areas of your life. As a lawyer if you have a creative idea, if you have an opportunity for your client, if you don’t peruse that, if you don’t act on your creative idea, well then you are just not even taking a shot at success. Outside of the legal professions there are all kinds of opportunities you might have, whether its going to a new class or having the opportunity to learn something, whether it is just meeting new people or expanding your social group. If you choose not to take that shot, if you choose not to act on that opportunity then don’t complain when you don’t get the desired result, you miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take.
