In Kansas, there are three types of courts you can get in trouble in, Municipal Court, State Court and Federal Court. Municipal Courts hear the majority of low-level offenses that are charged in Kansas courts. Low-level offenses in Kansas include Marijuana Possession, DUI, Theft, Criminal Damage, Criminal Trepassing, Battery charges and a few other charges. Each of these Courts has the same basic rules but vary vastly in their processes and personnel. There are over a hundred Municipal Courts in Kansas and each one is slightly different than the other. If you recieve a charge in Municipal Court you want to hire someone that has experience in that particular court. What may be an acceptable or even an expected result in one municipal court may be completely imposible to obtain in another.
