Hi, my name is Lauren Fields. I’m an attorney on the domestic litigation team at Roth Davies. Today I am going to answer some common questions asked to attorneys in divorce cases. Are dads treated differently than moms when establishing a parenting plan? The answer, generally speaking, is no. The courts cannot take gender in consideration when determining a parenting plan. Just because you are a dad, you will not be treated any differently than a mom. That being said, judges are still human and sometimes they will take into consideration the age of the child.
