CRASH ALERT: THREE PEOPLE DEAD, ONE CRITICALLY INJURED, AFTER TRAIN CRASHES INTO VEHICLE IN OXFORD

Roth Davies, LLC Media Oct. 12, 2020

OXFORD, KS - Three men were killed, and another was critically injured after a train crashed into a vehicle yesterday evening. According to the Kansas City Star, the deadly crash occurred on train tracks that cross Mission Road near Orchard Lane at around 6:37 p.m. The tracks are located on private land.

Four men were traveling in a Jeep and crossing the train tracks when they were struck by an oncoming train. Three men in the vehicle died from their injuries. One man is still in critical condition.

Law enforcement officers said they believe the Jeep had traveled across the tracks and into a private field and traveled back across the tracks when the train struck.

The crossing does not have any lights or bars to indicate a train coming. However, the gates leading to the tracks include "No Trespassing" signs.
