CRASH ALERT: 65-YEAR-OLD MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN ACCIDENT IN LATHROP

LATHROP, MO - A 65-year-old man suffered severe injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Lathrop on Wednesday evening. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on MO 116 and U.S. 69 at around 6:47 p.m.

65-year-old Alan Burton was traveling on U.S. 69 in a 2017 Chevrolet Impala when he stopped at a stop sign. Burton then failed to yield to an eastbound-traveling 2005 Ford Mustang driven by 37-year-old Burket Jones. 

Jones crashed the Mustang into the front left of the Impala, pushing the Impala into the west shoulder of MO 116. The Mustang came to rest in the intersection.

Burton was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
